Woohoo! After two years of teaching online, I'm returning to in-person sewing classes in my Beckenham studio.
4:00 - 5:15pm:
Juniors (Years 4, 5 and 6)
5:30 - 7:00pm
or 7:15 - 8:45pm
Secondary (Years 7 +)
Classes are payable half termly
£15/18 per week
depending on who is providing the resources for the half term.
FREE half hour one-to-one Zoom call beforehand to discuss current experience (zero is fine!), confidence level, expectations and safety.
Certificates will be awarded on a regular basis when new skills are mastered. This is ongoing and intended as a confidence booster.
PROJECTS MADE AND SKILLS COVERED
Classes will take place in my dedicated sewing studio near Beckenham Rugby Club on Thursdays. There will be two age-dependent classes available per week (Juniors and Secondary) and they will be run slightly differently.
Sewing machines are provided, but you are very welcome to bring your own too.
JUNIOR CLASSES (Years 4, 5 and 6)
All children will follow a curriculum that has been designed with children in mind. It has been developed to ensure that they feel increasingly confident and independent when using a sewing machine. Each progressive project will consolidate previous skills and then add an additional one to their arsenal! Although this group is aimed at younger sewists, I teach projects that extend their learning from projects that they may have tried at home.
SECONDARY CLASSES (Years 7-11)
The sewing classes for secondary pupils will run slightly differently. All children will be offered the chance to follow my tried and tested curriculum of skills, but it will also be possible for your child to bring their own projects and materials in to work on for the reduced price. I will still be there to walk them through any tricky steps.
PLEASE NOTE: If this group proves to be over-subscribed, then I will split the age range into two groups and run a later class.
SOUNDS FAB! WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Email me if you are interested in your child joining one of my groups.
