Last month, I received an EPIC (to quote the children that I teach!) confidence boost! Having received a cryptic tweet from a follower congratulating me for my success, I then discovered that I had been awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Best Newcomer’ category of the ‘Simplicity Blogger Challenge’. Cue massive grin and embarrassing dancing on the spot!!!
Here is an exert from the Simplicity blog announcing the winners:
Having reviewed each entry, the celebrity judging panel were hard pushed to whittle down the makes to one winner for each category. So, we created a ‘highly commended’ spot for bloggers that just missed out on the coveted top spot, but produced a project that both the judges and Simplicity recognised as a great make.
So, without further ado, here are the winners and highly commended bloggers for Simplicity’s inaugural Blogger Challenge.
We loved these interpretations of the Simplicity patterns, clever choice of fabric, their brilliant blogs and were massively impressed by their sewing skills!
BEST VINTAGE MAKE
I cannot tell you how proud I am after only having sewn two items of clothing beforehand – my Delphine skirt and a Coco top (both ‘Tilly and the Buttons’ patterns). As you can see from the links above, the competition was fierce too! I am well and truly addicted and wish there were more days in the week to indulge at a greater pace! Ah well, life with two littl’uns and working part time is good, so sewing will have to fit around that! In the meantime, what can I enter next??!!!
